Our interest in Braunvieh cattle tarted in 2004. After much research and time spent analyzing other breeds of cattle, we decided to purchase our first set of Braunvieh females. We purchased cows from the Midwest Sale in Springfield, Missouri and from Golden Link Braunvieh in Nebraska. We determined that we wanted to stay with the full-blood line and All Swiss purebreds.

We do not have a large numbers of Braunvieh cows. We have a small herd with an emphasis on lower birth weights, yet maintaining a high weaning weight. We are also focusing on a high ADG gain and a low RFI as we focus on our full-blood herd.

All of our calves at weaning time are IGENITY tested. We test for RFI, ADG, Tenderness, Marbling Score, Percent choice, Yield grade, Fat Thickness, Rib eye area, Pregnancy rate, Stayability, Maternal calving ease, Docility, and BVD-PI. The IGENITY profile is a practical, powerful tool that helps us identify more inside information early in the production stage.
